SERVICES PROVIDED BY WENDY

For children & adolescents:

Wendy offers a range of services for children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioural difficulties throughout their daily life. If a child is referred it is strongly recommended that the parent or responsible adult caregiver seek a referral also so that a broader family approach can be undertaken with or without the child present. Please discuss this prior to seeking the referral if need be. It is a Medicare requirement that the referred person be present at all sessions. This can be difficult if only the child is referred as discussions concerning the child are often best not heard by the child. Similarly for adolescents depending on their age and type of problem.

For adults (including the older adolescent):

Wendy works with adults who are experiencing a range of difficulties resulting in emotional distress. These difficulties usually are of an interpersonal nature and include social skills difficulties, anger management difficulties, grief, loss, and trauma resulting in varying degrees of emotional distress at home, work and in the wider community. Wendy is currently undertaking further training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to broaden her experience [...more on ACT]

For families:

Wendy's major interest is working with families who are concerned about their children. Research constantly supports the importance of parents (or significant other adult) in a child's life well into their adult years. TRIPLE P with its multi tiered approach is the chosen method of assistance [...more on TRIPLE P]

Out of Clinic Consultations

Wendy will visit you at home or other designated location such as a school but the initial consultation needs to be held in the clinic to discuss this possibility.
